A Windhorse Team
A team consists of several clinicians who spend time with the client on a regular basis, sometimes doing one or more “shifts” per day. This time is spent doing a variety of activities that encourage a balanced life – from keeping the household organized to helping them get involved with interests and exercise. The Boulder community offers a wide variety of unique opportunities to choose from.
Team Roles
Our teams are comprised of a variety of complementery roles:
- Team Supervisor holds the overall vision of the treatment and is the point person for the family and client. They work closely to support the family’s therapeutic needs and facilitate any family work that might be helpful.
- Intensive Psychotherapist works closely with the WCS clients in their individual therapy process. They usually meet with clients twice a week for 50-minute sessions. They also attend any psychiatry appointments with the client and support their medication management.
- Team Leader is the primary point person for the client within their home environment and typically spends two 3-hour periods weekly doing basic attendance shifts. This time is spent on tasks or activities that support the client in establishing and sustaining life intentions and goals. They collaborate with the client and team to establish the weekly schedule.
- Team Counselor spends interpersonal, social and community time with the client, usually twice a week in 3-hour basic attendance shifts. They support clients in tasks of daily living – from taking care of domestic needs to engaging in social, recreational and community activities.
- Therapeutic Housemate is a team member who lives with the client in their home environment and offers companionship, with the intention of establishing consistent rhythms of daily living. They are selected based on their maturity, personal warmth, and interest in compassionate service and spend approximately 20 scheduled hours each week with the client.
